Practiced at midnight....quiet. Surprised by energy in AM. Light, powdery snow just after first light...became increasingly opaque while maintaining the quality of swirling dust. Walking meditation afforded a chance to see the accumulation from the Dharma Room window. The altar provides an endless source of joy...cannot explain it. Reminded of Dogen's words: “To study the way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self...” Pain in knees this AM has crescendoed...at times I want to weep.
During work period cleaned kitchen floor, cabinets, replaced lazy Susan shelf in corner cabinet.
