Introducing the-robe-room
We have an email list for “members and regulars,” which is used to communicate informally with CIZCNY members and regular participants. Because it has grown organically, there isn’t currently a formal way to maintain and distribute a current list. This has at times caused confusion, frustration, and people being accidentally omitted.
To address these concerns, we have created a group at chogyezencenter.org called the-robe-room. The-robe-room:
replaces copying/pasting email addresses. To email the "Members & Regulars" informal group, simply send your email to the-robe-room@chogyezencenter.org, rather than the long list of email addresses as we do now. Your message will then be sent out to everyone on the most recent version of the list. From there, you can "Reply" and "Reply all" as usual.
this is a private group, on our domain chogyezencenter.org--the email addresses are not shared with anyone outside the group. So you aren't joining or subscribing to anything new, or getting put on a list that you can't get off of.
creates a central location for managing our informal list, where people can be added/removed. When you email the-robe-room@chogyezencenter.org, you will always reach the most recent list.
you can still see the list of people who will be receiving your message. While we won't see the list of names in the "To" field, every group member can still go to the group page and see the list of members.
unsubscribing is easy. Each message has a clickable link that will allow you to unsubscribe to the group
If you are already on the informal list, you’ll automatically be added to the-robe-room, and you will receive an email confirmation (below, left). If you’d like to be removed from the list, there are several ways to unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.
From the-robe-room dashboard, you’ll be able to see the other members of the group. You can also choose settings for how frequently you’d like to receive emails or unsubscribe (below, right).
